TIPI, GRAND PALAIS, PARIS - for Chaix et Morel

Designed for the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition at the Grand Palais, it was later reassembled across from the new national library, and later again on the plaza of the Pompidou Centre. In daylight, the white cone dominates, the canvas appears opaque, and the interior fills with light. Inside the tepee, the metal structure is apparent, a geometric figure that reduces progressively in dimensions as it rises to the summit. At night, the cone becomes luminous and reveals its structure through the translucent surface.
